The teams arrived at Aylesford Village Club just after 9pm and were greeted by Sean, the Landlord. The teams usually meet a bit earlier than the investigation begins so that we may aquaint ourselves with the building and it’s immediate surroundings.
As we sit and chat various members of the group psychically begin to pick up on different energies present in the room we are sat in.
By 10.31pm these energies begin to feel quite heavy and oppressive.
Jo speaks to Sean and members of staff to see if they have experienced anything unusual during their time in the club and Pete confirms that he has seen a tall dark shadow shape by the darts area. This has only happened once and was back in the 70’s. However, Sean tells us that a former Landlord in the club did report seeing things he couldn’t explain during his time there.
There have also been glasses knocked over, or fallen off shelves without any explanation at all.
Jo and Dante decide to take baseline readings and these are as follows.

EMF Fields:
a) The light switch on the internal wall of the men’s lavoratories gives off a strong EMF signal, but does not give off a reading on the external wall in the hallway landing.
b) There is a fluctuating (mobile) EMF field around the main ceiling light at the very top of the staircase, reading at 0.07milli gauss
c) The fire extinguisher to the left of the ladies lavoratories has an unusual EMF field around the top and bottom, but not at the middle.
d) Fire door has very little or no EMF fields, but the floor directly in front of the fire door gives off a field at 0.01milli gauss. [Note – Fire Door was locked and off bounds during investigation]

All temperature quotes are taken in degrees Celsius, unless otherwise stated.
In theory, the higher the humidity, the higher the probability of “dust orbs” appearing in photos due to the accrued moisture in the dust that inevitably ends up reflecting light.
The Investigation
The team continue to pick up on various energies around the club as they wait to begin their investigations. At 11.00pm the team move upstairs to a meeting room to begin setting out their equipment for the night.
Jo asks Kevin to lead the spiritual protection for the night. This is done by Kevin asking the teams to sit quietly and close their eyes while he talks them through connecting with their spirit guides/guardian angels to ensure their safety through the nights activities. Kevin uses simple but effective visualisation techniques for this, much the same to meditation exercises.
The group split in to 2 teams and Team 1 make their way in to the main hall for the first part of their investigation, with Team 2 remaining upstairs in the meeting room.
Team 1 Report
12.06am
Mick sets up old coins for the trigger object experiment on the pool table.
This is done by placing the coins on a sheet of plain white paper and drawing around them. We then leave them in a quiet area of the room and check back on them when we have a break to see if they have been moved from within their borders.
12.10am
Claire captures large orb on camera.
12.12am
Mick senses Horse and Coach stop off point as a residual energy.
Jenny senses the presence of 3 old men who are in their 60/70’s, and that these are negative energies. She then senses a group of girls by the double doors into the main hall. She feels there was an incident there, possibly a fight. A negative energy is felt at the core of the building.
Mick picks up on a wedding in the 70’s and feels that a few weeks later there was a tragedy related to the bride.
12.19am
Group commence with a quiet vigil. On asking for communication from spirit the group witnesses a knocking sound by the back door.
12.21am
Claire and Nicki see movement out of the corners of their eye outside the window and on closer inspection it’s decided this could not have been anyone walking outside, as the window is way above head height.
12.24am
Mick asks for spirit communication again and there is a noise by the window and a jingle sound towards the double doors. Mick also senses the presence of a negative energy by the name of “Jonathan”.
12.26am
Claire experiences a heavy head. We take note of this as people often experience this feeling when spirits are too close to them. Jenny has goosebumps near the staircase area and when Mick checks on the trigger objects on the pool table he confirms it has been moved slightly.
As Claire hears a tapping noise on the table, Jenny senses that the previous landlord was not a nice character.
Mick feels the room as once an animal paddock with lots of mud and straw.
12.30am
Claire takes pic of orb to left of stage.
12.35am
Jenny senses a spirit with Mick who hung himself. Mick confirms this to be Jonathan, a spirit who follows him on investigations in Aylesford. He was once a monk who abused his position working with orphans.
01.02am
Mick senses a Mayor (type person) with a Bevel. He was a big, portly man with side burns and a reddy nose from the 1960’s and we wonder if the premises were once a Town Hall.
Team 1 then make their way to the meeting room upstairs and swap positions with Team 2.
1.04am
Jenny senses activity in the left hand corner as you come into the room. Mick captures orbs on his camera. Gail senses something in the corner too.
01.07
The team start a quiet vigil.
Jenny senses an elderly woman related to one of the team. The EMF meter then gives readings of 0.5 milli gauss, which is within normal parameters.
Jenny does not want to sit down and feels she must move about.
Temperature is recorded at 25.5-26.
Jenny feels the female energy is related to Nicki. EMF readings are now moving from corner of the meeting room over to the window, and this can indicate that any spirit present are on the move!.
01.14am
Jenny senses the female energy is in her 70’s who was a short woman and picks up on the image of a caravan. Claire feels a tingling in her arm. Jenny then feels a poke in her ribs, tightness in her chest and gets the initial “E”.
She feels the energy related to Nicki is her Nan, on her Dad’s side (Nicki verifies this) she feels a long illness and that something was placed in the coffin (she suffered for many years with asthma and emphesyma and Nicki put a poem in the coffin with her Nan).
Jenny feels there was something Nicki’s Nan wanted her to have. She sees a Rose and warns Nicki to be wary of someone coming into her life, possibly known to her from 8 or 9 years ago. Jenny gets the name Jean, possibly a carer that Nicki’s Nan didn’t like, she also gets the name Albert (Nicki’s Nan’s Brother’s name).

Claire feels there is an energy in the corner by the window.

Mick senses the energy of a little girl for Jenny. Nicki is feeling apprehensive and nauseous. Again, this can be an effect of spirit being too close to a person.
Team 1 then make their way back upstairs to Team 2.
Team 2 Report
12.06am
The team settle for a quiet vigil in the meeting room upstairs.
Dante comments that on returning from the lavatory on the first floor, that he smelt hay. This has proved to be interesting, as Mick had felt that at some time where the main hall area stands, that this would have been used as an animal paddock.
Jo suddenly notices how she can smell the childrens antibiotic, amoxycillin.
Both Jo and Sarah feel as if cobwebs are blowing around their faces and again, this is often an effect felt when spirit energies are present, more so those of your spirit guides.
As the team sit for their quiet vigil, Sarah and Dante can hear the sound of a ticking clock or watch. No clock is present in the room and none of the team’s watches are responsible.
Jo picks up on the surname Grierly as Kevin calls out for spirit to make communication with us by tapping on something or touching one of us.
Jo feels pains in her knees and this is actually very painful and uncomfortable.
She feels this condition is given to her by a male spirit energy that appears to be quite a stroppy character. He would bang and crash his way around and was quite self-opinionated. He drew attention to himself by banging each foot up the stairs, he liked people to know he was around. Jo also feels that he was partially deaf so this could be why he was quite a loud character.
Kev is now picking up on a blacksmith, who wore a flat cap, neckerchief and a leather apron. This spirit looks to be about 47/48 years of age and has a moustache. The name James is given at this point, but there is no surname. As this information is relayed, several members of the team feel suddenly very heavy and unable to move properly, as if their limbs are made of lead.
As Dante is looking through the camcorder viewfinder, he is very surprised to see what he thinks is a high backed chair at the other end of the table. The only chairs in this room are normal office type chairs and not high backed at all. He moves up to the end of the table to see if he has mistaken this for anything else, but there is only one of the normal chairs there.
Jo comments on how she feels that some of the energies there seem to be on the residual level. Residual energies are playbacks of past events and not dangerous at all.
The atmosphere seems to be changing from heavy to light as the team go about their investigations.
As the team continue their vigil, Jo is startled to see what looks like a hand appear on the table. It appears as if it is looking at their equipment to see what it is. Kev says this would correspond to what he felt, as he felt a hand lightly rest on his hand.
Dante can see a distorted face (as if it had been cut) appear near Kevin and this concerns Jo, however, Dante assures her that this face was that of a sleeping one. At this point Jo can see orb lights appear over Kevin and these are white in colour. Kevin can feel that spirit energy is close by but that’s as far as it goes. Dante thinks he may have seen a monk walk by, but is not totally sure on this.
Kevin can now clairvoyantly (meaning clear seeing) see a spirit girl wearing a white dress with flowers on it standing at the top of the steps waiting, what for is unclear.
It is felt by the team that the energy seems to move around in cycles, going to each person to see what reaction is given.
On checking our equipment it is discovered that the dictaphones we are using have suddenly stopped working!.
As it is now time for the teams to swap over, Team 2 head downstairs to the main hall for the next part of their investigation.
Dante and Kev try to set up the beam barrier alarms (Motion Sensors) on the stairs, but there is a problem with them. The beam barriers work while they are setting them up and even go off while they are setting them up, but as soon as Dante and Kev attempt to leave the area they simply stop functioning. The equipment is not at fault and the batteries are new, so very unusual indeed!.
As we walk around the hall, Kev sees a figure over in the corner by the pool table.
Jo checks round the team to ensure they are all feeling ok and Adam mentions how cold he feels, as if there has been a sudden drop in temperature around him.
Sarah calls out for spirit to communicate with the team. Dante informs the team he feels very sick all of a sudden. Sarah has pains in her stomach and Adam feels chills down his back. In the area where the pool table is located we feel there is quite a substantial amount of energies, in fact, you could almost feel the energy as a kind of static electricity making your hands tingle.
Sarah sees a shadow move from the door to the bar area, and both Adam and Kev validate this as they have seen this also. Adam feels that this spirit is trying to hide itself away. It is noted that the room feels much colder and the air full of static.
Jo picks up on a lady who is seen to be dancing with a man while she is humming a tune, Jo hums this tune out loud but no one knows what the tune is. She also picks up on a male spirit energy who is quite an unpleasant person. He doesn’t like seeing the dancing couple and Jo feels he had breathing problems as she feels tightness in her chest and she also feels he had circulation problems.
Adam comments on how sick he feels since he sat down near the bar area, so Jo asks him to move away and walk around for a few moments. Dante checks his boundary microphone, which was connected to his tape recorder, only to find that it’s been disconnected!.
A soldier is picked up on by Sarah, coming in to the bar for a drink, although the bar looks different, longer and more curved. Sarah and Kevin both pick up on energies that look as if they have come from the 40’s/50’s by the style of their dress. Sarah also senses the name Albert, which has proved to be interesting due to the connection this has to Nicki, Team Leader for Team 1. Sarah has only met Nicki literally a couple of times as she lives up North, so it’s not as if this information has come to her over a period of time.
As the team check on their equipment, dictaphones, camcorders etc, Dante’s camera switched itself on and off and Jo and Sarah witnessed this.
Team 2 then head back upstairs to check in with Team 1.
Due to the time, Jenny, Nicki and Claire have to leave us at this point to go home.
The remaining team members decide to conduct a Ouija Board session in the meeting room located upstairs to see if anything comes through that is of relevance to the night’s investigations.
Although many letters were given out as the glass moved around the board, nothing of any relevance is discovered so Jo asks that the session is ended and that Kevin leads the closing protection so that the team can close the nights paranormal investigation.
Conclusion
This was a really great investigation at a fantastic venue.
It was an added bonus for us that night to have our Assistant Manager Sarah with us for the investigation. As Sarah lives up North we don't get to work with her as often as we like, so it was great for the team to be together in it's full form.
Although the team didn’t experience the distinctive and loud audibles that they have at other venues, there was certainly plenty of evidence of other paranormal activity.
Many members of the team picked up on spirit with names as well as appearances, which have been documented in this report. There was slight movement of the trigger objects and the team experienced an unusually high amount of equipment malfunctions, which upon investigation cannot be attributed to anything other than paranormal activity.
The team at Portals To Beyond would like to give their thanks to Sean and the staff for their time and patience and for allowing us the opportunity to conduct a paranormal investigation at such a great venue.
