As the rest of the team was getting ready in the main bar to start the investigation Dante was setting up the EVP tape recorder in the old stable area that had been turned into a private dining area. Dante and Adam then went through taking initial readings starting from the basement. Although Adam was with Dante during the initial readings, at one point the tape recorders would not work and the infra red beam barrier alarms were repeatedly going off, but eventually settled down, The cause of this was not uncovered. Lock off area was set up at roughly 23:45hrs.
IR (Infrared) photos were used throughout, however due to the fact that the logbook wasn’t being filled out care was taken to make sure that there were no people in the shots, therefore after development there should not be any people in any IR photos.
EVP Report
Position: Type I Ferric / Long Play / Non Filtered / 1 Class A / 0 Class B / 0 Class C
A single tape was used during this investigation. Side A contains no EVP recordings, while side B contains only a single EVP recording, yet it is a class A recording.
Shortly after Barb calls out to spirit asking for communication and how we are dying to communicate with them, a shriek or cry is heard roughly a couple of seconds afterwards. What is unusual is that this cry is very odd, and not of a human nature.
Investigation Conclusion
Out of all of the photographs that were taken, none of them appear to have any abnormalities, orbs or mists ect, and the flash worked as and when it should have. There were no equipment malfunctions or reported incidents of battery drains to equipment that had been previously charged.
The IR barrier alarms were not set off at any point during the investigation.
IR photographs were used during the course of the investigation, however they will take some time to develop and so the results wont be readily available. From a scientifc perspective there was not a great deal of evidence to support the presence of anything paranormal, however at the same time it is clear that many members of the team experienced something highly unusual.

The Investigation
Set back from Addington Green, The Angel Inn is a picturesque 14th Century building. The original building was built in 1378 in the reign of Richard II. The restaurant was added in the 18th Century and has great character with tables located within the stable blocks. (Taken from The Angel website)
It's always a real pleasure tp spend any time in The Angel, Lee and his staff are so welcoming and the whole establishment is a credit to their hard work and dedication, so it was with real excitement that we were lucky enought to be able to make a return visit for a further paranormal investigation.
We had some new members with us on this evening and it was their first paranormal investigation ever, so they were a little nervous!
The team met at 9pm and decided to sample the excellent food The Angel serves whilst we chatted to our guest members about what they may or may not experience during their first paranormal investigation. At midnight the investigation began with a simple but thorough spiritual protection led by Jo Whichelow for everyone in attendance that night. This is a very relaxing visualisation routine, similar to a meditation and very effective at preparing people for contact with spirit whilst safeguarding them at the same time.
We conducted our first investigation in the far right hand side of the pub. Barbra called out for spirit to make contact with us by making a knocking or tapping sound, or by touching one of us. Jo Whichelow picks up on a female energy aged 22 who had stomach pains and feels this was a possible pregnancy. Barbra hears a tapping sound over by the window. She senses 3 different spirits at this point and taps are heard arou nd the area the team are sat in. Nicki feels a touch to her right arm. Spirit children are also sensed, a girl and a boy, older and real mischief makers! The initial "C" is picked up on for the girls name. Sean feels a cobwebbed feeling down his back and Jo explains that this is a common feeling when spirit energy comes in to contact with your aura.
At 12.15am the team move over to the area by the ladies toilets. Sean feels a touch on his arm almost immediately. Jo Whichelow feels that the light in the ladies toilets has been tampered with, as in it will go on and off at random and this has happened while people have been in there. Lee confirms this to be true. Sean can feel a touch on both of his arms now and senses this would be the spirit children. The feeling he experiences moves to his neck and ear and Gail says she can feel this herself too. Sean feels only warmth from the children and is not perturbed by his encounter with spirit. At this point, Barbra, Gail and Sean see a small orb like flickering light go past the door of the ladies toilets.
12.20am sees the team move into the middle bar area to try an experiment. A glass is placed on the table and Barbra, Joanne Waters, Sean and Simon take their places around the table, placing only a fingertip each on the glass. The team call out for spirit to work with us and attempt to move the glass around the table. Energy is felt around the glass and they can sense the glass trying to move. The glass slowly begins to move and Jo Whichelow asks for the glass to move towards Joanne Waters if it's ok to ask questions and this is confirmed. The glass then moves towards Barbra and then continues to move around the table. The team asks if you are a little girl, move the glass towards Sean, but if you are a boy, take the glass to Joanne Waters. However, we cannot get a clear answer at this point as the glass is slow moving, so Jo Whichelow takes a place at the table and places a fingertip on the glass to give a stronger energy for spirit to work with. It is our group policy in our work with spirit, to treat them with love, kindness and respect and also to enjoy the work we do, as humour and a light hearted attitude are both positive qualities and serve to lift the energies to a higher level. The glass responds well to Jo Whichelow's positivity and moves towards Sean and then back towards Barb with such a force it almost ended up in her lap! The team then change around, allowing other people to experience this for themselves, so Caroline, Catherine, Ian, Lee, again with Jo Whichelow, take a turn at feeling the glass move around the table. As the glass builds up speed, Gail sees a blue orb light inside the glass itself and Sean confirms he too saw this. The glass is really moving now in large circles around the table and keeps moving towards Caroline. Jo Whichelow feels that this is because Caroline has such a loving and maternal nature, and that any spirit child energies at the table would be instantly attracted to her. What is unusual is that the glass keeps moving over towards Caroline at speed and then slows right down as it gets near her lap and but for the fact that the team took their fingertips off the glass, it would have gone straight on to her knee! The team change around again, this time placing Gail, Adam, Chris around the glass with Jo Whichelow helping. The glass slowly moves around the table towards Adam, but nothing further than that happens and we feel that the energy present is tiring so we ended the session.
As the team chat about their individual experiences of the glass experiment, Adam reports that he feels very dizzy and unwell, so Jo Whichelow breaks off the investigation while she gives him healing. As Jo gives him healing, he says he can see a spirit hand on his arm, a very comforting feeling, as if spirit too were giving him the needed healing. Within seconds Adam is right as rain. Gail can feel a tingling sensation down the inside of her arm.
At 12.44am we take a much needed break and Lee kindly provides tea and coffee for those who need it.
1am and time to resume the investigation, this time to try a table tipping experiment.
Jo Whichelow asks Barbra, Gail, Nicki and Dante to join her in placing their hands on the top of the table and asking spirit if they can move the table through us. Various creaks and noises are heard from under the table as it tries to move. Nicki is replaced by Sean on the table and Chris replaces Gail. The team feel as if the leg of the table is lifting slightly. Loud creaks are heard and felt and a slight rocking of the table is felt. However, both Sean and Chris report that they can feel the energy pulsating through the table and are thrilled to experience this for themselves. Jo Whichelow places different members of the team and guests on the table in turn allowing them to sense this for themselves.
At 1.17am we move in to the stable/restaurant area. Taps are heard when the team call out for spirit to show us some form of activity. Sean feels a hand touch his neck and blue orb lights are seen around one of the tables. Jo Whichelow sense the presence of an older spirit man who had a throat problem.
He has bushy greying eyebrows and is seen stroking his eyebrows, a gesture those who knew him would have seen regularly. Sean reports seeing the same blue lights other team members have seen and a clink is heard on one of the glasses on the table. A clicking sound is heard by the whole team and it's guests in the rafters. Sean still continues to feel spirit around him, reporting that he can feel them touching his hair. The door to the kitchen begins to creak slowly as if someone has pushed it open, and Nicki investigates this further. Lee confirms that the door had been shut!
Jo picks up on the name "John" for the spirit man she encountered earlier. at 1.35am the team take turns at quiet vigils in the cellar. All of the members experience the cobwebbed feeling across their faces, taps are heard when we call out to spirit and tiny blue and white lights are seen floating around.
At 1.50am the investigation comes to an end, bearing in mind that Lee and his staff have been hard at work all day and will be in work later that morning! Closing protection is carried out by Jo.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Lee and his lovely staff for their help and co-operation throughout the nights investigation and for making us so welcome again, a real pleasure to spend time in such a lovely venue as The Angel once again.
